Ever wonder why the term “plant parent” was created? Many with a green thumb liken the responsibility of caring for a houseplant to nurturing a human baby–pricy, confusing at times, but rewarding. 

Julio César Román, owner of Micro Plant Studio in South Boston, said plants can be “dramatic.” Each requires different levels of care, and several factors can cause plant babies to droop, discolour, or die. Sometimes, you wish you could just dial the phone and find the root of the issue.
