This October, Micro Plant Studio is proud to launch a brand-new community initiative explicitly designed to bring local families from diverse backgrounds together through creative action. We are hosting our very first youth Pumpkin Giveaway Event, gifting 150 medium-sized pumpkins to local kids and teenagers (ages 4 to 18).
Our goal is to ensure that every young neighbor feels safe, seen, and celebrated. To make each gift complete, we’re asking our wonderful community and local businesses to help us match pumpkins with art supplies by purchasing mini acrylic paint sets, festive stickers, and spooky crafting novelties through our Curated Amazon Donation Registry. We want to make sure every kid gets a chance to be creative, no matter what. This giveaway gives young artists from all walks of life everything they need to take home and make their own awesome fall masterpiece.

BOSTON, MA — September 21, 2026 — Micro Plant Studio officially announced today the launch of its first-ever youth-centric autumn campaign: SOUTHIE PRIDE: FREE Pumpkin & Paint Kit Giveaway – Fall for the Arts. Designed explicitly to bring local Boston families from diverse backgrounds together through shared creative action, the studio will distribute 150 free pre-packaged canvas gift bags containing medium-sized pumpkins and custom art supplies to neighborhood children and teenagers.
“We want to make sure every Boston kid gets a chance to be creative, no matter what,” said Julio César-Román, owner and founder of Micro Plant Studio. “This giveaway gives young artists from all walks of life everything they need to take home and make their own awesome fall masterpiece in an environment where they feel safe, seen, and celebrated.”
The initiative operates on a dual-track community structure, providing free resources to neighborhood youth while inviting local residents and corporate neighbors to take action by sponsoring the materials:
- For Boston Families: Parents and guardians can register children ages 4 to 18 online for free. Registrations are limited to two kits per family on a first-come, first-served basis up to 150 slots, after which a waiting list will automatically open. The main pickup event will occur on October 22, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the studio’s storefront on West Broadway. Registered youth must be physically present alongside an accompanying adult and bring their digital confirmation pass and QR code to check in.
- For Community Sponsors: To fund the campaign, donors can “Donate a Pumpkin Instantly” through the studio’s online store checkout, or purchase matching art supplies via a Curated Amazon Donation Registry. All business sponsors will receive prominent logo placement across the studio’s digital layout and social media channels. The hard deadline for all sponsorships and physical donations is October 15, 2026.
Local residents looking to give back can also apply to join the event’s volunteer crew. Positions are open for kit assembly on October 21st at 7:15 PM, as well as front-door check-in ambassadors and kit distribution handlers reporting on October 22nd at 3:00 PM. Volunteers at the check-in station will assist staff in upholding universal sidewalk courtesy rules, ensuring a safe queue with a strict policy of no pushing, no space savers, and no line-skipping.

EVENT RULES
Please review our event rules and pickup details before booking your family’s tickets:
First-Come, First-Served:
Only the first 150 kids who register are guaranteed a kit. Once all slots are filled, this booking system automatically switches to a Waiting List.
Household Cap:
To ensure as many unique households as possible can participate, there is a strict maximum of two (2) free pumpkin kits per family.
Adult Supervision Required:
For safety and coordination outside the studio storefront, an adult must accompany each young person at pickup.
Youth Attendance:
Registered children or teenagers must be physically present with their accompanying adult to claim their pumpkin and art kit.
Proof of Registration:
Please bring your store confirmation email and check-in QR code on your phone (or printed out) so our team can check you in quickly!
Line & Queue Courtesy:
To keep pickup day safe and fair for all our neighbors, we enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy for line disruption. No pushing, no space savers, and no skipping the line.

REGISTRATION STEPS
Step 1: Book the Event
After reading the event rules, click on “Read More.” A window will pop up with basic event information. Click on “Book Event” and follow the prompts to add your tickets. Please remember that kids/teens must be physically present during pickup, and there is a strict maximum limit of two tickets per family.
Step 2: Complete Free Checkout
You will be redirected to the final checkout page. Enter your contact information, full name, and address. Because this event is 100% free, do not enter any payment information. Click the “Place Order” button to finalize your reservation.
Step 3: Check Your Email
Check your email inbox immediately. After you register, our system will automatically send you three separate emails. One of these emails contains your official registration ticket and unique check-in QR CODE. If you do not see these messages within a few minutes, please check your Spam and Junk folders. Once you open the ticket email, make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom to view your codes, and save that email for pickup day!

Check-In Station
Greet registered families at the door and quickly scan their online confirmation emails and check-in QR codes. As a frontline ambassador, you will also help our staff kindly but firmly enforce our line courtesy rules (no pushing, no space savers, and no skipping the line). Volunteers assigned to this role must report to the studio for setup on October 22, 2026, at 3:00 PM. (Volunteers Needed: 2 people)
Kit Distribution
Hand the pre-packaged canvas gift bags directly to our young artists! The giveaway will take place on October 22nd from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Volunteers assigned to this role must report to the studio for setup on October 22, 2026, at 3:00 PM. (Volunteers Needed: 2 people)
Event Photographer
Want to donate your lens to help us capture the joy of pickup day? We need 1 volunteer photographer on Oct 22nd to document our young artists and community crew in action! We will need your lens on October 21 at 7:15 pm during kit assembly and October 22 at 3 am during the event. (Volunteers Needed: 2 people) Take photos of families and volunteers!
